We
Believe |
-
There is one and only one God that reveals Himself in three forms: as God the Father, as the Son of God (who is Jesus Christ: virgin born, willingly sacrificed, and raised from the dead), and as the Holy Spirit.
- The Bible is God’s inspired Word and we choose to use the King James Version for public teaching and preaching.
-
God desperately wishes to have a growing relationship with every man, woman, and child.
-
Our relationship with God is restored and salvation from spiritual death is secured by His grace when we put our faith in Jesus Christ.
-
God offers eternal life which is secure forever to those that trust in His Son.
-
It is God’s desire that believers live a holy lifestyle.
-
It is also God's desire that we share the good news about Him with everyone that we can.
-
The independent local church was established by God to build up believers and to mobilize them to reach the lost.

Vital
Information for You |
|
Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ demonstrated God's love for each and every person by dying for us (Romans 5:8). He did that because sin, wrongdoing that each and every person is guilty of, separates people from God (Romans 3:23). But although we all deserve the death sentence for our sin, God chose to offer us forgiveness and freedom and life instead (Romans 6:23)! All that is required to accept that gift is to agree with God that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Everyone that does that is a real Christian (Christ-one) and because of that faith in Jesus, God considers Christians to be sinless and at peace with Him through his grace (Romans 5:1, Ephesians 2:8).
The crucial questions are, Have you settled the issue
of your eternal salvation by believing that Jesus Christ is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead? Can you remember the time
and the place where you made the decision to put your faith in
Christ’s sacrifice to pay the penalty for your sin and obtain God's free gift of eternal salvation?
If you can not
think back to a time and a place where you made that
decision, it is not too late. You can still trust in Jesus
Christ for your salvation right now. If you are ready
to believe in Jesus Christ, why not pray this prayer right
now, “Lord, I know I have sinned against You and that my sin
keeps me apart from You. Please forgive me. I believe that you died to pay the required penalty for my sin. I believe that God raised you from the dead and that you are Lord.”
If you prayed that prayer just
now and are local to Bible Baptist Church in Kissimmee,
please contact our church and let us know. We would consider
it a privilege to help you as you grow in your
relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are not local
to Kissimmee, Florida, please find a Bible teaching church
near you and contact them to find out how to start growing
in your new relationship with Christ. |

Local
and Worldwide Missions Focus |
|
|
|
|
|
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus
commissioned His church when He said to go and
make disciples from all nations. In
keeping with this mandate, Bible Baptist Church
has the responsibility of leading people both
locally and in other lands into a growing
relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive
to be a relevant, community impacting church
here in the greater Kissimmee area, as well as
to be part of the global effort to reach people
in other countries by supporting missionaries serving abroad. |

Fundamental, but not Out-Dated |
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
Our ministry style is based on the fundamental teaching of the Bible, but is far from out-dated. We live
in a community that is composed of a wide range of divergent
cultures, backgrounds, and interests. It is in this
unique and growing setting that God has called us to lead
people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We do that by worshiping God because we love Him, on learning what God’s Word teaches us and how we can apply those lessons to our lives, by enjoying friendships with other Christians, and on leading unbelievers to Christ. |

Demonstrating God's Love is the Key |
 |
|
Since Jesus taught that loving God and others is His priority for us (Matthew 22:36-40), at Bible Baptist Church, we aim to do that. Our services are focused on worshiping God because we love Him (John 4:23,24). We strive to learn what God’s Word teaches us and apply those lessons so we can know Him better (II Timothy 3:16,17). We spend time together with other Christians so we can enjoy fellowship with each other and encourage each other (Hebrews 10:25). Finally, we work together to lead others to hear about Jesus Christ so they, too, can put their faith in Him (II Corinthians 5:20). |
|
|
Each believer at Bible Baptist
Church can tell if they are spiritually on course by evaluating their
relationship with Christ and their service for Him, the love they demonstrate toward other Christians, and their faithfulness at sharing the gospel with those outside the church. |
|
How am I doing
with these spiritual goals in my life?
|
|
 |
| |
|
Closeness with Jesus |
Loving other Believers |
Sharing the Gospel |
|
|
A growing relationship
with Jesus Christ requires steady progress in all three vital
areas. As individual members of Bible Baptist
Church
and as a ministry overall, we must regularly and frequently
check on our spiritual growth by our behavior toward God and others. |

The Bible
Baptist Church Story |
| |
|
Bible Baptist Church was founded in 1969 by Pastor Leonard Jackson. Seventeen people made up the first Sunday morning attendance. Initially the church met in Pastor Jackson’s home, but the congregation quickly outgrew that location and had to move: first to a shared location with another local church and later to a storefront in downtown Kissimmee. In August of 1969, Dr. W. Ed Carney became senior pastor and in September of 1972, the congregation moved to its’ current location. In the spring of 1974, Pastor Carney was burdened to start Heritage Christian School for K-3 through 12th grade. The church grew as Pastor Carney led the church through 30 years of spiritual and physical growth with numerous building projects. When he retired in July 1999, the church’s Sunday morning attendance had grown to over 900 and Heritage Christian School had about 400 students enrolled.
Pastor Joe Williams, who came to us as Co-Pastor in March of 1996, assumed the responsibility of Senior Pastor in July 1999. Spiritual growth and physical growth continued as we saw additional building space added, and larger church attendance. Heritage Christian School grew to an enrollment of around 500 students. In July 2005, Pastor Williams retired as Senior Pastor of Bible Baptist Church.
Pastor Jimmy McNeil, came to Bible Baptist Church as Associate Pastor in April 2001. Upon Pastor Williams’ retirement, Pastor McNeil was called to be the church’s Senior Pastor in August 2005. Bible Baptist continued to grow under the leadership of Pastor McNeil. With close to 600 children in our school, over 1,000 in attendance each Sunday morning, and over 400 experiencing salvation in the last two years, the church has been blessed. Pastor McNeil recently announced that he was following the Lord’s leading to another ministry and preached his last message on May 25, 2008.
Pastor Rick Flowers is our Senior Pastor coming to us
from Michigan in March of 2009. We look forward to
many years of blessing under his leadership.
God has truly blessed our people these past decades and He has done great things through Bible Baptist Church. We believe He is still calling us to lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and we are looking forward to even greater years ahead. |
